Net proceeds from The Weekend to End Breast Cancer will benefit Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), a leader in the fight against cancer and the largest institution in Canada exclusively devoted to cancer treatment, research, and education. Funds raised will be primarily directed to ground-breaking research in breast cancer, moving us a step closer to discovering a cure. At Princess Margaret Hospital, we focus on translational research - research findings that are quickly transformed into improved treatment options and enhanced patient care.

The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research Since 2003, a total of $18 million from funds raised by the WEBC have been allocated to The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research at Princess Margaret Hospital. The Campbell Institute http://www.campbellinstitute.ca/ is bringing together Canada's top breast cancer researchers under the leadership of Dr. Tak Mak. The M. Lau Breast Centre Opened in 1998, the hospital's M. Lau Breast Centre is the largest and most comprehensive breast centre in Canada. One in ten women diagnosed with breast cancer come to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment. The Centre and its breast program offers medical, surgical, and radiation oncology, as well as psychosocial support and palliative care in one location. The Centre also houses a resource library, two digital mammography units (one funded by part of the proceeds from WEBC 2003), surgical oncology operating facilities and postoperative recovery room, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Accepting over 17,200 patient visits each year, the M. Lau Breast Centre offers an integrated approach to breast cancer, diagnosis, treatment, and support.

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is produced by CauseForce Inc.®, an organization that successfully produces large-scale events that enable non-profit groups to raise significant sums of money to fund research and services for important causes.
